“The United States will also have to undertake careful deliberations about the fate of the planned North Korea-U.S. summit in light of this provocative military ruckus jointly conducted with the South Korean authorities,” South Korean news agency Yonhap reported.
Ri Son Gwon, the head of the North Korean delegation for the inter-Korean talks sent a fax announcing the cancelation of the scheduled meeting between the two countries, South Korea’s Unification Ministry said.
The joint military drills have been defended by the Defense Department calling it as defensive and part of their annual training program.
