ABS-CBN Debunks Video Clip Showing “Typist Faster than Mar Roxas”

The country’s leading news media organization, ABS-CBN debunks rumors spreading online that they were favoring Mar Roxas during the PiliPinas Debates after a video clip showing that the typist of the TV station was faster compared to the answers given by Mar Roxas. The said viral video was found out be a hoax as explained by ABS-CBN in on of their articles.

The controversial video clip made the rounds online allegedly showing TV graphics being shown faster than the answers of the Liberal Party’s standard-bearer Mar Roxas. The viral video clip was first uploaded on YouTube by a certain “Nylede Flores.”

The Kapamilya did its best to clarify to its viewers that they were not favoring any candidates and based on the full transcript and the unedited video of the debate showed that the statement made by Roxas was already stated during the first few statement of the former DILG Secretary.

Based upon the full video which was posted by ABS-CBN on YouTube, it reveals that the phrase “Binangga ko ang mga malalaking interes” was shown on TV, it was already the second time that Roxas said it during the segment.

Roxas: “Alam mo, Karen, sa kasaysayan ko, binangga ko mga malalaking interes. Pharmaceutical industry… [Crowd cheering] …cheaper medicine law, banking industry at insurance industry, yung pre-need law natin. So sa aking karanasan, binabangga ko ang mga malalaking interes kung ito ay para sa kapakanan ng ordinaryong Pilipino. Wala akong problema doon.”

ABS-CBN News, in an official statement on Monday, denied that questions were leaked to candidates.

“There is no truth to malicious reports that the questions asked during the PiliPinas Debates 2016 were leaked to the candidates beforehand. The video clip circulating on social media was manipulated and is not an accurate excerpt,” ABS-CBN News said.
