50 Pasay City Government Workers Eats ‘Pansit’ from Birthday & Suffers Food Poisoning After
PASAY CITY – 50 Pasay City Government workers complained of stomach ache and diarrhea after suffering from food poisoning.
Food poisoning or also called foodborne illness is caused by eating contaminated food. Infectious organisms including bacteria, viruses, parasites or other toxins. In many cases, contaminated food is the most common causes of food poisoning.
The foodborne disease can start within hours of eating contaminated food showing signs of nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Usually, it can be resolved without treatment but severe cases may lead to further health complications and even death.
About 50 employees of Pasay City Government fall ill after eating ‘pansit’ or noodles at a birthday. The victims reportedly suffered from stomach ache and diarrhea after eating the food.
The government employees from the Treasury Department said that a birthday celebrant give them ‘pansit malabon’ as a part of its birthday celebration last November 9, 2021. The food seems to be fine and they find no problem with it.
The workers observed no peculiar taste nor smell from the food. Unfortunately, they began to fell ill after reaching their respective homes. One of the employees gets hospitalized but now in stable condition.
The Pasay City health office said that they will send samples of the noodles to a laboratory for further tests.
