Lakam Chiu charged with “124 counts” of qualified theft.
Lakam Chiu, the sister of ABS-CBN actress Kim Chiu, is facing “124 counts” of qualified theft, stemming from alleged “unlawful withdrawals.”
Actress and television host Kim Chiu’s older sister, Lakambini “Lakam” Chiu, is facing 124 counts of qualified theft over alleged withdrawals and transfers involving millions of pesos from their family business. To recall, Kim formally filed a case against Lakam late last year, citing “serious financial discrepancies discovered” in their business operations, and this was filed before Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Hall of the Department of Justice Building in Quezon City.

According to the rumors circulating online, the qualified theft against Lakam was due to gambling.
Recently, according to reports, Lakam is now facing 124 counts of qualified theft in connection with alleged withdrawals and transfers totaling Php 44.396 million from the corporate funds of their company, House of Little Bunny Philippines, Inc. (HOLB).
This was based on the investigation by the Office of the City Prosecutor of Quezon City, which found sufficient basis to charge Lakam after reviewing the statements and evidence submitted in connection with Kim’s complaint.
Based on a 21-page resolution dated September 1, 2026, criminal information against Lakam had been formally filed on July 15, 2026.
Allegedly, Kim previously discovered unusually large withdrawals from the company’s accounts in May and June 2025. Among the transactions she questioned were online transfers amounting to about Php 1.8 million made between June 10 and 16, 2025.
Another series of transactions allegedly left only Php 4,022.19 in an account that previously had around Php 9 million. Kim also claimed that Php 2.796 million in transactions were made between July 18 and 23, 2025.
Eventually, Lakam admitted to taking money from their joint accounts and returned P2 million. Kim later alleged that additional funds remained unaccounted for.
An audit reportedly found over Php 36.65 million in missing or unaccounted funds, prompting Kim to take legal action against her sister.
Lakam denied the qualified theft allegations, saying she had permission to access their joint accounts. She claimed the money was used for a business involving casino “junkets” and questioned the audit findings. Despite her denial, prosecutors found enough basis to charge her with qualified theft involving 124 transactions.
Meanwhile, the complaint against Kim’s accountant, Helena Tayag, was dismissed due to a lack of evidence linking her to the missing funds or any alleged conspiracy.
