Pres. Duterte Speaks on Next Election for PH President
DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said that he does not see anyone yet who deserves to be the next president of the Philippines.
The Philippines is less than a year away from electing a new president. Undeniably, the so-called “election fever” can already be felt and there are already names on who might take a run for president in the 2022 Elections.
Survey results got several names consistent on who may possibly be a presidential candidate in next year’s bid. One of those who are usually included in the survey results is presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
The Davao City Mayor previously expressed that she has no intention to run for president next year. Even President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is not in favor of it as he does not want her daughter to experience what he went through.

Speaking to SMNI, the Chief Executive admitted that he talked to his daughter about next year’s presidential bid convincing her not to take it. Amid what the President want, there are a lot of people calling for the Davao City Mayor to run and succeed her father in the top post.
Aside from the Davao City Mayor, others eyed to run for president next year include Senators Ping Lacson, Bong Go, and Manny Pacquiao. There are also a lot of people calling for Manila Mayor Isko Moreno to run for president.
As for Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he does not see anyone now deserving to be the next president. Meanwhile, he may make a commendation in the future.
“Wala ako nakikita na deserving… Pero mayroon diyang mga aspirants. I may publicly name them when the time comes,” the Chief Executive said.
According to the President, he does not want to insult anyone but the presidency takes more than just what a person is showing now and his or her capabilities. He said that he is speaking from a “political horizon”.
