BONG GO – Senator Christopher “Bong” Go reacted to the statement of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte that he told him he wants to be president.

Currently, there are already talks about the possible candidates for president in the 2022 elections. Although most government officials are vocal about focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic, many people already know who they will support in case their bet would run in the next election.

Undeniably, a lot of people are urging presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte to run for president. Posters and tarpaulins expressing support to her are currently circulating in the different cities in the country.

However, according to the presidential daughter, she has no plans of running for president next year. Her decision really got the side of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte who said he does not want her daughter to go through what presidents go through.

Currently, another name crossed the surface – Senator Bong Go. It was after Pres. Duterte claimed in a speech for the inauguration of a port in Negros Oriental said that the Senator told him he wants to be president.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Duterte said the Senator asked a favor from him to tell the public about it. It sparked applause at the event and the lawmaker waving his hand seemingly signaling that he has no plans to be president.

According to the report, Sen. Bong Go said that it was just a joke of Pres. Duterte. He expressed his gratitude for the trust but stressed that the President knows he’s not interested to run for the position.

“Magbabago lang siguro ang isip ko kung tatakbong Vice President si Pangulong Duterte,” he expressed.
