PACQUIAO – Philippine Senator Manny Pacquiao was asked about his possible bid for president in the upcoming 2022 Elections.

Many people now await announcements regarding the 2022 Elections. There are already speculations on who might possible take the presidential race next year and be the successor of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The same names are usually part of the survey results.

One of the people speculated to have the plan to run for president next year is boxer-turned-senator Manny Pacquiao. Previously, Sen. Ping Lacson claimed that the boxer-turned-senator really has plans to run for president but he is currently consistent in focusing to the problems of the country.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to Karen Davila in an exclusive interview, Sen. Manny Pacquiao did not give a categorical answer on whether or not he is certain to run for president in the 2022 Elections. According to the Senator, he does not want to lie.

The boxer-turned-senator cited that he does not want to say now that he is not running and when the election is near he would announce his bid. Based on the report, he also stressed that no one can stop him from running in case emphasizing that the Philippines has a democratic form of government.

According to the Senator, in case he would run, he still wants to be under PDP-Laban. He is currently the chairman of the political party but they have yet to talk about the issues within the group.

Some of the members of PDP-Laban urge Pres. Duterte to run for vice president in the next election. The party’s chairman does not agree to it as he thinks it might not be good for the president. Meanwhile, he still awaits a meeting with him.
