CORONAVIRUS CASES IN THE PHILIPPINES – Here is an update on the total COVID-19 cases, deaths, and recoveries in the Philippines now, May 22.

In the Philippines, the community quarantines are still up now as the country’s fight against COVID-19 is not yet over. Everyone must not be complacent to prevent the 2nd wave of the disease.

The said coronavirus was first recorded in China way back December 2019. Back then, the other countries were only hearing about the so-called “mysterious disease” that had an outbreak in Wuhan City.

Now, coronavirus or COVID-19 is already a pandemic – its impact is far beyond what was expected of it. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that it is going to be a long-term fight against it.

Coronavirus Cases in the Philippines

Globally, the coronavirus has already infected over five (5) million people. More than 200 countries and territories have confirmed cases of the said disease.

As of today, May 22, there is now a total of 13,597 coronavirus cases in the Philippines after the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 163 new cases of the disease.

Eleven (11) new deaths were recorded bringing the death toll to 857. The health department also noted in its latest advisory that 92 patients have recovered from the disease recently. The total coronavirus recoveries now is at 3,092.
