Passenger Expresses Disappoint to Reckless Jeepney Driver
A male passenger lambasted a jeepney driver who was allegedly driving recklessly along the route to SM Fairview.
Recently, Nikko John Soliban, a Facebook user, posted the video of the jeepney driver who was accused of careless and reckless driving. The post quickly went viral and gained mixed reactions from the online community.
Soliban said that the incident happened on May 28, 2026, between 10:30 in the morning and 11:00 a.m. He explained that he boarded the jeepney in Housing and was heading to Riverside when he noticed the driver’s dangerous behavior while driving.
According to the passenger, several commuters inside the jeepney became nervous because of the driver’s actions. He claimed the driver was speeding, suddenly swerving, and dangerously overtaking motorcycles and other vehicles on the road.
Some passengers reportedly pleaded with the driver to slow down to avoid an accident, because of the fast and careless driving.
The passenger admitted that he could not immediately speak up because he was also frightened during the trip. He added that there were moments when it felt like the jeepney could overturn because of the sudden movements made by the driver while navigating traffic.
“Hindi lang ako makapag salita dahil sa kaba, pero yung ibang mga pasahero panay pakiusap po sa driver na mag dahan dahan. Pumipina sya ng mga motor at iba pang sasakyan na sa sobrang bilis at biglang kabig parang tataob ang jeep,” he said.
Aside from the alleged reckless driving, the passenger also claimed that the driver briefly stopped after noticing a female passenger he found attractive.
The passenger called on transportation authorities such as the Land Transportation Office, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to look into the matter.
Many netizens also stressed the importance of stricter monitoring of public utility drivers to help prevent road accidents and protect innocent passengers.
