Marcos Jr. on Flood Control Scam: “Kung talagang racket ko ‘yun, ba’t ko sisiraan yung raket ko?”

Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Denies Alleged Involvement in Flood Control Corruption

MARCOS JR. – The President pointed out that only his administration supposedly acted on the flood control issue.

The supposed multi-billion flood control corruption has yet to be fully resolved. In fact, one of the alleged main role players in the flood control scam, Zaldy Co, is still at large and the Sandiganbayan has ordered the charges against Co to be archived as he has yet to be arrested for six months now.

Several witnesses in the flood control issue implicated Zaldy Co, a former chairman of the House Budget Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives. He is also a former partylist representative of Ako Bicol.

Co was already out of the country when the flood control issue broke out. Previously, he has been releasing videos of himself on social media wherein he made his own claims over the flood control issue — implicating Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the supposed multi-billion flood control scam.

According to Zaldy Co, billions of money were allegedly delivered for Marcos Jr. and Romualdez through suitcases filled with money. He also claimed that the President and the former House Speaker allegedly received multi-million kickbacks all for themselves.

Malacañang was quick to defend the President from the allegations of Co. According to Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro, the former Congressman allegedly tagged Marcos Jr. in the issue to stop the flood control investigation.

Amid the flood control issue, Davao Mayor Baste Duterte tagged the act of Pres. Bongbong Marcos of investigating the flood control issue as an alleged “self-destruction”. Mayor Baste Duterte also claimed that the Filipino people are allegedly suffering more and more under the Marcos administration.

“Kaya I do not want to work in government for a president na ganito. Because nothing is happening. The people are suffering more and more. And I do not want to be a part of it,”

Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. denied the claims of his critics that accuse him of allegedly having a hand in the flood control scam. He pointed out that he’s among those who was the first to reveal the controversy.

“I’m the one who exposed all of this, and I’m the only one that has started to do anything about this,” the President said during an interview with the reporters in Vancouver, Canada.

Based on the report, Marcos Jr. further stressed that if he’s really involved in the flood control scam and he’s making money from it, why should he expose it. According to the President, the allegation against him allegedly makes no sense.

“Tapos sasabihin, ako daw ang may kagagawan. Eh kung talagang racket ko yun, ba’t ko sisiraan yung racket ko? Di ba? That makes absolutely no sense,” Marcos Jr. said.

Amid the political issues and the rift between the Marcoses and the Dutertes, Davao Mayor Baste Duterte previously said they are only after one person, Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
