Statement of Malacañang on VP Sara Duterte’s Presidential Bid for 2028
Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that Vice President Sara Duterte should find a running mate who is working.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte did not only confirm that she will run for president in the 2028 Elections. She also revealed that she has already reached out to someone who she wants to be her running mate in the next polls.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she has recruited her running mate in the 2028 Elections last year. Amid her revelation that sparked different reactions, the Vice President refused to reveal the identity of her chosen running mate.
Duterte stressed that keeping the person’s identity will protect him/her as he/she decides. The Vice President was also confronted about the claims of other people that she might take revenge against the Marcos Jr. administration if she wins the 2028 Elections.
Many people do not like the government to turn into a ring wherein the administrations get back at each other. It is no secret to the public that the current President and Vice President are not in good terms. Malacañang previously claimed that the announcement of Duterte will not affect Marcos Jr.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she will not be a vengeful president as it is never in her history as an official to get back at someone. However, she warned that those who committed mistakes towards the government will be held accountable.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that her running mate will allegedly focus on holding the corrupt government officials accountable while she remains focus in her work as the president. The recent remarks of the Vice President earned different reactions.
Recently, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro spoke on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte finding for a running mate in the 2028 Elections. Based on a report on PhilStar, the Palace official stressed that it was Duterte’s decision and hopefully she will find a running mate who really works.
Atty. Claire Castro stressed that the times now are different and Vice Pres. Duterte should allegedly find a vice president who works.
“Desisyon niya iyon. Talagang kailangan humanap siguro siya ng partner — partner na talagang magtatrabaho sana…isang Bise Presidente na nagtatrabaho,” the Malacañang press official said.
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he is talking to some people over the 2028 Elections.
