Class Suspensions Announced as Bad Weather and Tropical Storm Basyang Disrupt Classes 

WALANG PASOK – Various local government units in the country announced class suspensions in some areas due to Tropical Storm Basyang.

On Friday (February 6, 2026), several areas across the country suspended classes as authorities responded to unstable weather conditions and the threat posed by Tropical Storm Basyang. Local governments moved early to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school staff, especially in areas prone to flooding and strong winds. 

PAGASA warned the public for possible flooding, landslides, and dangerous travel conditions, prompting officials to temporarily halt face-to-face learning. 

Class Suspensions

Most suspensions covered all levels in both public and private schools, while some areas shifted to alternative learning methods. The decisions were based on local risk assessments and weather updates, with safety placed above all else.

  • Camarines Norte: Basud 
  • Camarines Sur: Bombon, Cabusao, Calabanga, Canaman, Caramoan, Goa, Lagonoy, Libmanan, Magarao, Milaor, Minalabac, Naga City, Ocampo, Pamplona, Pasacao, Sagñay, San Fernando, San Jose, Sipocot, Siruma, Tigaon, Tinambac 
  • Catanduanes: Panganiban 

Visayas 

  • Western Visayas: Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo City 
  • Central Visayas: Bohol (province-wide), Cebu Province, Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City 
  • Negros Island Region: Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental 

Mindanao 

  • Northern Mindanao: Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte 
  • Davao Region: Davao City, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro (except Mawab) 
  • Caraga: Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur 
  • Zamboanga Peninsula: Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay
