Elderly Man Touches Hearts of Volunteers Over P19 Donation for Earthquake Victims
The volunteers in Cebu were moved by an elderly man’s P19 donation for the victims of magnitude 6.9 earthquake.
Volunteer Jennivieve Abelgas Caminero shared the story of an elderly man who made a humble donation for quake victims in Cebu. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
The old man named Tatay Chel approached them with a simple question and a humble donation for earthquake survivors that carried so much meaning.

According to Caminero, they first saw Tatay Chel walking along the road carrying a sack. He stopped by and asked if he could give something for the victims. From his pocket, he pulled out P19 the only amount he had on hand at that moment.
The volunteers were deeply touched, knowing that such an offering came from someone who didn’t have much to give in the first place.
Tatay Chel asked if the volunteers would still be around on Monday because he planned to return with more donations. He explained that he would try to gather old t-shirts that could still be useful to those who lost their belongings in the disaster.

His sincerity and eagerness to help, despite his own limited means, touched many hearts.

A very inspiring photo just how we can share no matter how little we think we have.
Niduol si Tatay, nagdala ug sako, iyang sanina nagkabulingit pa tawn. Nikuot sa bulsa—-Php 19 pesos nga kinasingkasing nga hinabang. Dli unta mi mudawat ug cash kay through bank transfer ra. Pero dili mi kalibad ni Tatay, gikumot among kasingkasing.
Nangutana pa si Tatay kung naa paba ig Lunes kay mubalik siya mangolekta kuno siya ug mga tshirts nga ma donate.
GOD BLESS YOUR HEART TATAY!”
