PAGASA Says Severe Tropical Storm Emong and Habagat to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Severe Tropical Storm Emong and habagat will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Thursday (July 24, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Severe Tropical Storm Emong and the southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Emong was spotted 265 kilometers west Southwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 105.

“On the forecast track, Emong may pass close to Pangasinan this afternoon and may make landfall over Ilocos Region tonight or tomorrow early morning,” the Pagasa said.
“After traversing the Northern Luzon, the center of Emong will re-emerge over the Luzon Strait and may pass close to Babuyan Islands,” it added.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 was raised in the following areas:
- Northern portion of Pangasinan
- Western portion of La Union
TCWS No. 2:
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- The rest of La Union
- Western portion of Apayao (Conner, Kabugao, Calanasan)
- Abra
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Benguet
- Central portion of Pangasinan
- Western portion of Nueva Vizcaya
TCWS No. 1
- Batanes
- Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
- Western and central portions of Isabela
- The rest of Nueva Vizcaya
- Quirino
- The rest of Apayao
- The rest of Pangasinan
- Northern and central portions of Zambales
- Tarlac,
- Western and central portions of Nueva Ecija
Emong continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring intense torrential rainfall expected over Bataan and Occidental Mindoro.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for severe flooding and landslides.
“Numerous flooding events are likely, especially in areas that are urbanized, low-lying, or near rivers. Landslide likely in moderate to highly susceptible areas,” Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, Dante was last spotted 790 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, moving north-northwestward at 15 kph, according to PAGASA.
