2 Motorcycle Riders Injured on Commonwealth Road Accident
ROAD ACCIDENT—Two motorcycle riders were injured in a road accident along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.
On early Wednesday morning (June 25, 2025), two motorists suffered injuries in a road accident in front of Commonwealth Elementary School.
Based on CCTV footage, a bus was seen stopped in the motorcycle lane to drop off passengers. Behind it, a delivery rider was parked. After a few moments, another speeding motorcycle crashed into the delivery rider, causing him to hit the back of the bus.
“Nakahinto kami, nagbababa kami ng pasahero. Nagulat na lang ako na may bumunggo sa likod ko. Paalis na nga kami eh nung time na ’yon,” the 40-year-old bus driver said.
The bus driver, who was on his way to Fairview, said they had already stopped when the accident happened. The bus only sustained minor damage to its bumper.
The 39-year-old delivery rider suffered a swollen forehead, a cut near his eye, and knee pain. He said he was already heading home to Montalban when the crash happened. He shared that he couldn’t afford to take legal action because he is supporting a family in the province and has no extra money.

“Nand’yan ako sa motor lane, biglang may bumangga sa akin sa likuran… pauwi na ako ng Montalban,” the delivery rider said.
The rider who initially caused the crash also sustained injuries to different parts of his body. He declined to give a statement. According to people nearby, he may have been under the influence of alcohol.
A barangay ambulance quickly responded and brought both riders to the hospital for treatment. Gloria Taaca, a medic from Barangay Commonwealth, reminded motorists to avoid driving while drunk and always stay alert, especially in accident-prone areas like Commonwealth Avenue.
Authorities from QCPD Traffic Sector 5 are continuing their investigation to determine the full details and responsibilities involved in the accident.
