Ruru Madrid talked about his new project with Dennis Trillo
Kapuso Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid shared that Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo inspired him to do demanding projects.
Ruru and Dennis first worked together in the movie Green Bones, which was part of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 and was hailed as the Best Picture, which also gave Dennis his 2nd MMFF Best Actor trophy, and Ruru’s Best Supporting trophy.
In a recent interview with Chika Minute on 24 Oras, Ruru Madrid shared that doing the television series Hari ng Tondo, with Dennis Trillo, felt nostalgic.

Ruru expressed excitement about his new television project with Dennis. They filmed inside the abandoned Quezon City Jail, and this was a nostalgic experience for Ruru because his movie with Dennis was also filmed in a jail.
“Ito ‘yung aming first taping day na magkasama kami ni Kuya Dennis for Hari ng Tondo. Unang eksena rin na magkakasama kami bilang si Gabriel at Egay,” the Kapuso Primetime Action Hero shared.
Ruru also shared that his character in this series is one of the darkest he has ever portrayed. He added that Dennis is an inspiration for him when it comes to balancing demanding television and film projects.

“To be honest, biggest inspiration ko rin sa paggawa ng ganitong, you know, pelikula at may teleserye, si Kuya Dennis,” he said.
Ruru also highlighted the work ethic that Dennis has. The younger actor shared that the older actor was filming Green Bones while still filming for the series Pulang Araw. “So sabi ko, kung kaya ni Kuya Dennis, kaya ko rin ‘yan.” he said.
In the same interview, Ruru was also asked about his sister Rere Madrid’s marriage to basketball player Kai Sotto. At first, it was “nakakagulat” for him, but eventually the feeling of happiness surpassed it. He also said that it was his first time seeing his younger sister so happy.
