BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President reacted to the conditions presented following his remarks about “reconciliation” with the Duterte family.

The feud between Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is no secret to the Filipino people. The soured relationship between the once-united officials of the government who were a victorious team in the 2022 Elections was even triggered by the recent arrest of the Vice President’s father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is also faced with an impeachment trial and Pres. Bongbong Marcos, despite his claim that he won’t interfere with it, is getting blames over the current situation. The Duterte camp claimed that the Marcos admin wants the Vice President removed from office.

During the 2025 Elections campaign period, Vice Pres. Duterte and Pres. Marcos endorsed different sets of candidates. It was only Manny Villar’s daughter, Las Piñas district Representative Camille Villar, who they both supported for senator. The Vice President even called on the Filipinos not to vote for the senatorial bets of Marcos Jr.

Recently, following the 2025 Elections, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he is open to reconcile with the Duterte family. His statement earned different reactions from the people including the close allies of the Dutertes.

Reelected Senator Bong Go who was a former aid of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte said Marcos Jr. should bring Duterte home first. His fellow Duterte ally, reelected Sen. Bato dela Rosa, said Pres. Marcos should deport the “ICC investigators” if he is really sincere over his reconciliation remarks.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos spoke further about “reconciliation”. Based on a report on GMA News, the Chief Executive asserted that reconciliation does not work along with conditions. He stressed that there must be no conditions to reconcile with someone.

“No, no, no, no, no, no. No. That’s not how reconciliation works. You don’t put conditions to reconcile,” the President said.

According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, if one is sincere on reconciliation, the problem should be talked about and resolved. He believes there should be a sit down conversation between the parties involved.

“When you want – if you’re sincere, you want to reconcile, let’s sit in front of… Ano ba talaga ang problema? Paano nangyari ito? Tanggalin natin ang problema,” Marcos said.

Based on the report, the President stressed that having conditions is not reconciling but making demands. When asked how far he is willing to go through to reconcile, the Chief Executive said he does not know what willc ome up and what is needed.

Recently, amid the revamp of the administration, Pres. Bongbong Marcos reacted to the calls for him to resign.
