Aside from the investigation bureau, Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation Secretary Larry Gadon filed a case seeking to disbar Vice Pres. Sara Duterte over her threat against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Gadon made the call to the Supreme Court.
According to Larry Gadon who is a disbarred lawyer, the SC needs to “initiate a motu propio proceeding of disbarment” against the Vice President for her statements which were allegedly “illegal, immoral and condemnable”.
In his letter to the Supreme Court, the OPAPA Secretary stressed that the statement of Vice Pres. Duterte has become a “public knowledge” as the live press con on Zoom was shared in several social media platforms. Based on the report, he stressed that “such statements coming from the second-highest official of the land, seen and heard by millions of Filipinos”.
Based on the report, Larry Gadon recalled that the Court has not disbarred or, at least, suspended Duterte for inflicting injury to a police sheriff who was just implementing its duty in 2011. According to him, despite the alleged injustice that he suffered from the high court, he believes that the SC will outlive some biases in dealing with the issue.
Aside from her statement that seemingly ignite threats against the Marcoses, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also accused the Marcos family of allegedly being the ones behind the death of the late former Senator Ninoy Aquino.
