Here’s Statement of Ninoy Aquino’s Family Following Sara Duterte’s Accusation vs. Marcoses
NINOY AQUINO’S FAMILY – The family of the late Senator issued a statement after Vice President Sara Duterte linked the Marcoses to his death.
The recent statements of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte against the Marcoses have earned different reactions from the netizens. Vice Pres. Duterte who previously accused Pres. Marcos of allegedly not knowing how to be president threw a remark against the Marcoses mentioning the late former Senator Ninoy Aquino.
The Aquinos and the Marcoses are known as political rivals. However, currently, the said rivalry has seemingly eased. However, a recent statement of Vice Pres. Duterte urged the Aquino family to released a statement.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte accused the Marcos family of allegedly being the one behind the death of the late Ninoy Aquino. Here statement came amid a souring relationship between her and Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
Vice Pres. Duterte whose OVP chief-of-staff was detained by the House of Representatives even threw remarks that seemingly ignited threats on the lives of Pres. Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, as well as House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Recently, Ninoy Aquino’s family released a statement after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte implicated the Marcoses in the death of the former Senator. Based on a report on GMA News, the family of Ninoy stressed that the late former Senator is probably the politician who experienced the most pressure from the Marcoses but they despise threats.
“Si Ninoy Aquino na siguro ang pulitikong nakaranas ng pinakamatinding panggigipit mula sa mga Marcos. Karapat-dapat na sila’y panagutin para sa kanya at sa libu-libo pang dinakip,” the family said in their statement.
Ninoy Aquino’s family stressed in their statement that the late former Senator believed in a peaceful process until his death in 1986 and it is something that the family he left behind is standing for.
Based on the report, the Aquino family stressed that it freed the Filipinos from the alleged cruelty of the dictatorship. The family emphasized that they are against all forms of threats. They also called on the public to pray for the Philippines.
“Gayunpaman, hanggang sa kanyang huling araw, naniwala si Ninoy sa lakas ng mapayapang pakikibaka, at noong 1986, ito ang nagpalaya sa atin mula sa kalupitan at kasakiman ng diktadura. Ito rin ang paninindigan ng naiwan niyang pamilya,” Ninoy Aquino’s family said.
The recent statements of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte earned different reactions from the Filipinos. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has issued a subpoena for Vice Pres. Duterte over her threats against Marcos Jr.
