Customer Slams Controversial Pet-Friendly Restaurant in Tagaytay After Discovering Disgusting Object in Ordered Food

A customer criticized the controversial pet-friendly restaurant in Tagaytay after finding a disgusting object in the food they ordered.

Last week, a customer named Lara Antonio criticized the Balay Dako for its unclear pet policy. Antonio attempted to bring her Aspin, Yoda, to the restaurant but was denied entry due to the dog’s weight.

Although Yoda is considered a medium-sized dog, the restaurant only allows dogs under 15 kg, a rule that Antonio claimed was not clearly posted on their website or social media.

The situation became even more controversial when larger breeds, like Labradors, were reportedly allowed in, leading Antonio to believe that her dog was being unfairly discriminated against.

After receiving backlash, Balay Dako issued a public apology on September 9, 2024, clarifying that they aim to be pet-friendly but must also consider factors like space and guest safety.

Recently, Jojo Valerio, a Facebook user, shared photos of the disgusting objects in the food they ordered from a pet-friendly restaurant in Tagaytay. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.

During a dinner at Balay Dako, he discovered a dead cockroach floating in their food. According to Valerio, the restaurant staff were very apologetic and immediately waived the bill.

However, he still felt disappointed by the situation. He emphasized that such an incident was unacceptable, especially in a restaurant that is considered high-end, with prices that reflect this.

Valerio pointed out that this type of carelessness poses a health risk and is particularly upsetting for diners expecting high-quality service and food.

Here is the full post:

“Very bad experience in Balay Dako Tagaytay. While having our dinner and enjoying one of the best

dishes that they offer, suddenly a dead COCKROACH was seen floating in our food. Ako pa talaga yung nalagyan ng ipis alam naman ng lahat na di kami friends ng bagay na yan. I was so dissapointed sobrang friendly and apologetic ng staff pero this is so serious. This is not a scoop or paninira pero sobrang careless ng restaurant para magkaroon ng ganitong pangyayari. Health risk and hindi nakakatuwa na magkaroon ng ipis ang pagkain mo sa isang mamahalin na restaurant!!!!!!!! they waived the bill but for me hindi ito tamang pangyayari sa isang restaurant na alam natin na hindi naman mura at ang presyo ay may kamahalan.”
