Rumor has it that MTRCB will summon Vice Ganda because of his fried chicken ad
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) reacted to the allegation that it would summon Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda because of his recent fried chicken commercial for a fast-food chain.
Vice is one of the prominent celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry of this generation. Being a popular TV personality entails a lot of positive things for him. Because of his established name in showbiz, several companies are getting him as their endorser.
His most recent endorsement project is for a fast-food chain’s fried chicken. Following the release of his new TV advertisement, a rumor surfaced that MTRCB would summon him.
Allegedly it is because of how Vice Ganda ate the fried chicken in the commercial. A post on X from Anima Cristi Fermin, shared screenshots of Vice from the TV ad and it as this caption: “Lala [Sotto] at MTRCB ipatatawag ang McDonald’s Philippines at si Vice Ganda dahil umano sa pagkain ng chicken Mcdo gamit ang bibig na tila may hawig sa paraan ng pagkain nito ng Icing sa It’s showtime na nagpapakita na sarap na sarap ang host sa pagkain.”
To recall, the producer of Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime was summoned because of the viral icing incident of Vice with his partner Ion Perez. Because of this, the show was suspended for 12 airing days.
Regarding this rumor, MTRCB released a statement based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon. The board encouraged the public to be more aware and discerning in identifying fake news.
MTRCB also stressed that it is one with the aim of President Bongbong Marcos to fight against misinformation and fake news that has become rampant on social media.

“Sa panahon ng digital age, mahalaga na tiyakin kung tunay ang mga balita at maging mapanuri sa iba’t ibang sources ng impormasyon bago ito ipamahagi. Ipinapakita ng insidenteng ito ang kahalagahan ng Media literacy at Kritikal na pag-iisip.Patuloy na sumusuporta ang MTRCB sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. at sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO) sa kampanya nito laban sa disinformation at misinformation. Naniniwala kami na dapat nang wakasan ang Fake News at hayaan na ang katotohanan ang maghari.”
Amid this issue or rumors about the alleged “summon,” Vice Ganda did not release any statement, as of the writing.
