Online Community Praises Honest PHLPost Employee for Returning Lost Wallet to Owner
PHILIPPINES – An honest PHLPost employee earns praise online for returning a lost wallet to its respective owner.
The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has recognized the exemplary honesty of one of its employees. San Mateo Post Office Municipal paid Letter Carrier (LC) Ruben Gregorio earned praise for his good deed.
Gregorio reportedly found a lost wallet while delivering letters within his assigned areas on September 26, 2023. The wallet contains P8,000 and important documents including identification cards.
The honest employee returned the wallet to its respective owner identified as G. Romeo I. Nabo, a teacher from Dulong Bayan Elementary School in San Mateo Rizal.
Since 2017, Gregorio has been diligently delivering letters, parcels, and PhilIDs to various remote and mountainous areas in San Mateo, Rizal, including Brgy. Pintong Bukawe, Timberland, and Maarat.
According to Juliet Dawila Otadoy, Acting Postmaster (PM) of the San Mateo Post Office, LC Gregorio promptly returned the wallet, complete with its cash and important contents, to the Post Office.

The Post Office staff also made immediate contact with Mr. Nabo to facilitate the wallet’s return.
LC Ruben, a father of four and husband to his wife, Cristy Gregorio, has exemplified the culture of honesty and dedication.
Postmaster General (PMG) Luis Carlos emphasized the enduring culture of honesty and simple living within the postal service. “Napatunayan na mula noon hanggang ngayon ang kultura ng katapatan at simpleng pamumuhay ay nananatili sa post office at liblib na mga sangay sa buong bansa,” Carlos said.
The official hopes that Gregorio’s honesty may serve as an inspiration to others.
