EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.4 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental today, September 19, 2023. Here are the details.

Following the 4.7 magnitude earthquake in Oriental Mindoro, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. The quake hit Davao Oriental. According to the agency, it has a magnitude of 4.4.

The earthquake today that struck Davao Oriental, Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 12:32 p.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Governor Generoso.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Oriental was located at 05.77° North, 126.79° East – 126 km South 39° East of Governor Generoso. It had a depth of focus of 001 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording bureau, no intensity was logged at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well as of this writing.
