Angelika Dela Cruz received a threat because of her political stint
Actress-turned-politician Angelika Dela Cruz was threatened to retreat as a vice mayoral candidate in Malabon City.
Angelika has been a public servant for many years already. In recent years, she seldom does showbiz projects and focuses on her life behind the camera.
In the 2025 elections, Angelika decided to run for vice mayor in Malabon. Just like many politicians, she is also active in campaigning. It can be seen on her social media page that she had happy interactions with Malabon residents.
However, there were people who were not satisfied with her service as a barangay captain. Previously, it was revealed that the actress-politician received complaints. 64 counts of violation of the Anti-graft and Corrupt Practices Act were filed against her.
Through a Facebook post, Angelika Dela Cruz answered the complaint by saying that her enemies in politics will really do anything to hinder her from aspiring to the vice mayoral seat.
Apparently, this issue did not stop there. In a recent Facebook post, Anglika showed a crumbled paper with this message telling her to retreat or her family’s welfare would be compromised.
“Mapagpalang araw sayo!! Umatras ka na sa laban ng vice mayor ng Malabon!!! Kung hindi alam mo ang kahinatnan mo at ng pamily mo!!!” the message reads. This came with three bullets.
In the caption of her post, Angelika wrote, “siniraan, kinasuhan ngayon naman tinatakot anong kasunod ?!! Grabe na pati family ko dinadamay ninyo.“
In the comment section, Angelika Dela Cruz received support from netizens amid the threat she received. A netizen said that this was a desperate move from her opponent while another one encouraged her not to be afraid and continue. Many netizens also wished for her and her family’s safety.
