PAGASA Says Habagat & LPA to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that monsoon rains will prevail over some parts of the country.

On Friday (July 21, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Habagat and a low-pressure area spotted off southeastern Luzon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that a low-pressure was spotted 950 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon. It is expected to intensify into a tropical depression today and will be named ‘Egay’.

PAGASA Update

“Inaasahan po natin ngayong araw magiging isang tropical depression or mahinang bagyo na po itong LPA given na itong sirkulasyon na nakikita natin itong kumpol ng ulap is naging mas compact,” Estareja said on latest weather update.

Estareja explained if the LPA intensifies into a tropical depression it may developed into a severe tropical storm or typhoon by Monday or Tuesday as it moves towards northern Luzon.

The weather disturbance may hit Northern Luzon or head towards sea east of northern Luzon. The LPA will remain within the Philippine Area of Responsibility for about six days. Today, it is unlikely to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA Update

Currently, the weather agency has not raised any gale warning over any of the country. Small seacrafts are safe to sail.
