PAGASA Says ITCZ & LPA to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area and ITCZ will bring rains over Visayas and Mindanao.
On Wednesday (July 19, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area was last spotted at 710 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is embedded along the ITCZ.
“Sa Luzon at malaking bahagi ng Visayas ay halos walang masyadong kaulapan, ibig sabihin ngayong araw ay medyo mainit ang panahon na mararanasan sa Luzon at Visayas, pero asahan pa rin natin ang posibilidad ng thunderstorm,” weather specialist Obet Badrina said.
Badrina said that the low-pressure area may develop into a cyclone today or tomorrow but will not directly affect the country.
“Maging bagyo man ito, wala pa rin itong direktang epekto sa anumang bahagi ng bansa,” Badrina added.
The LPA and ITCZ will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Bohol, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental.
The ITCZ and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over western sections of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of Luzon and the remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
