PAGASA Says Betty Exits PAR, Rainy Conditions Expected Over Parts of PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Betty exits PAR, wet and cloudy weather conditions are expected over parts of the country.
On Friday (June 2, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The enhanced southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that Severe Tropical Storm Betty is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It was last spotted at 685 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
The enhanced southwest monsoon will trigger rainfall in many parts of the country.
“Sa ngayon ay umiiral naman ang southwest monsoon o ang hanging habagat dito sa ating bansa, at ito ay ini-enhance pa din ni Bagyong Mawar,” Pagasa weather specialist Patrick del Mundo said.
Habagat will bring monsoon rains over Occidental Mindoro, Antique, and northern Palawan including Cuyo, Calamian, and Kalayaan Islands.
The weather system is expected to bring overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Calabarzon, Bicol region, and the rest of Mimaropa and Western Visayas.
Fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected in the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.
PAGASA raises gale warning in the northern coast of Ilocos Norte, Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands and Isabela due to rough to very rough surrounding sea conditions.
“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” Pagasa said
