Pastor Arrested for Lascivious Acts Complaints

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrests a senior pastor in Puerto Princesa City for lascivious act complaints.

On the night of March 27, 2023, the CIDG Oplan Pagtugis conducted an operation resulting in the arrest of a 54-year-old pastor named Romeo Nuñez. The arrest took place in Brgy. Bagong Sikat, Liberty, and was carried out by P/Maj. Joseph Severino of CIDG led the operation to serve the warrant for Nuñez’s arrest.

The warrant was issued by Judge Enrique Selda of Branch 3 of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Fourth Judicial Region on March 23, 2023, in response to complaints of lascivious acts against Nuñez.

Nuez lives in Kalikasan Homes on Wescom Road, Brgy. San Miguel, and serves as head pastor of Jesus Christ The River of Life Church. At the 2022 national and local elections, the preacher ran for mayor of Puerto Princesa City.

The pastor’s bail has been set at P36,000, which will provide him with temporary freedom while his case for violating Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code is heard.
