Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about Earthquake Today November 29, 2022 in Abra

EARTHQUAKE TODAY NOVEMBER 29, 2022 – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.6 magnitude earthquake in Abra today, Tuesday.

Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.

One of the strong quakes recorded by Phivolcs was the 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental. There were expected aftershocks due to the said quake and a tsunami advisory was released then.

Previously, also one of the strongest quakes recorded by Phivolcs was the one that hit a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking was felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“. But the agency advised the people to wait for factual information and not to panic.

Recently, a quake hit a part of Abra, November 29, 2022. At 06:57 a.m., Danglas was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake today Abra that hit a part of 17.68°North, 120.62°East – 005 km South 70° West of Danglas with a depth of origin of 001 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. The following instrumental intensities were felt and recorded in these areas:

  • Intensity III
    • Bangued, Abra
  • Intensity I
    • Vigan City, Ilocos Sur
    • Sinait, Ilocos Sur
