PAGASA Says Typhoon Inday to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Typhoon Inday may bring isolated rain showers over parts of the country.

On Monday (September 12, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Inday will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Inday has been last spotted at 425 km northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 190 kph moving 10 kph at a north northwestward direction.

“Typhoon INDAY is unlikely to directly bring heavy rains in the country throughout the forecast period,” PAGASA said.

The Trough of Typhoon Inday and Localized Thunderstorm will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Abra, Benguet, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Aurora.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather bureau also raised a gale warning for the seaboards of Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to Inday. The coastal water condition over the eastern seaboard and the remaining northern seaboard of Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough.

The remaining parts of the archipelago will have a slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

Meanwhile, Inday is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday night or Tuesday early morning (September 13).
