PAGASA Says Habagat & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms will bring rainshowers over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (September 6, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the tropical depression was last plotted 1,680 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph.

“Ang bagyong ito ay napakalayo at wala pong epekto sa ating bansa at hindi po iyan nahihila o naapektuhan ang habagat,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales, and Bataan.

The Southwest Monsoon/ITCZ will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with rainshowers/thunderstorms over Western Visayas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Habagat and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the rest of Visayas as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Extreme Northern Luzon will be slight to moderate.

The weather agency has also warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides. A tropical depression located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

“Base sa wind forecast ng Metraweather, ‘yung sentro ng tropical depression, posible kung ‘di magbabago ang bilis, bukas nasa loob na ng PAR,” meteorologist Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz said.
