Toni Gonzaga reiterated the importance of positive campaigning
Actress-host Toni Gonzaga said that the true fight cannot be measured by the black propaganda being thrown at a candidate.
Toni is a UniTeam supporter. From the time she hosted the proclamation rally of the team of former Senator Bongbong Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, Toni has received a tremendous amount of bashing.
There were even supporters of other camps who “cancelled” her. Despite receiving negative comments because of her political choice, the actress-host remained unbothered. She continued hosting and performing at UniTeam campaign rallies.
In a recent sortie in Tagum City, based on the article in Bandera, Toni Gonzaga once again stressed the positive campaigning that the BBM-Sara tandem has been advocating since the start of the campaign period.
“Excited na ba kayong bumoto? Naaamoy n’yo na ba ang tagumpay ng bawat Pilipino?” the wife of award-winning director Paul Soriano said during her speech. Then, she said that the true fight will happen on Election Day.
“Ang tunay na laban sa halalang ito ay hindi nasusukat sa paninira ninyo sa ibang kandidato sa entablado. Ang tunay na laban ay mangyayari sa araw ng halalan kung saan hindi na boses ko, boses ng kahit sino, o kahit sinong kandidato ang maririnig ninyo dahil mamayagpag na ang boses ng sambayanang Pilipino,” she said. Toni Gonzaga also reminded the audience during the said rally to go out and vote on May 9.
In a previous rally, Toni also addressed the “cancel culture” that has been prevalent this election season. She said that in UniTeam, there is no cancel culture, only Filipino culture.
When Alex Gonzaga was asked how her older sister handles the bashing, the Lunch Out Loud said that her Ate Toni is getting used to this and she is not minding the negativity that other people throw at her.
