5 Dead, Over 20 Hurt After Dump Truck Carrying Wedding & Graduation Guests Crashes in Benguet
Five dead and 20 others were injured after a dump truck carrying wedding and graduations guests crashed into Benguet.
According to police investigators, the truck came from Bauko, Mountain Province and was carrying around 32 people who were traveling to Nueva Vizcaya to attend a wedding and a graduation ceremony.
Families and relatives were reportedly excited for the special events, unaware that the journey would end in disaster.

The accident happened along a curved downhill road in Barangay Poblacion, Kabayan. Initial investigation showed that the dump truck allegedly experienced mechanical problems while descending the steep road.
Authorities said the driver eventually lost control of the vehicle as it rapidly gained speed downhill before overturning.
The crash caused panic and severe injuries among the passengers. Residents and emergency responders quickly rushed to the scene to help the victims trapped inside and around the overturned truck.
Several injured passengers were immediately brought to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Unfortunately, five people lost their lives in the accident, including two children aged 3 and 11 years old. More than 20 others were injured, some of them suffering serious wounds and trauma from the incident.
Instead of celebration, loved ones were left mourning the sudden loss of family members.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash and to check whether the vehicle was safe for transporting passengers.
The incident also raised concerns online about road safety, overloaded vehicles, and the risks of traveling through steep mountain roads using trucks not designed for passenger transport.
