Netizens reacted to the breakup reason that Mel Sarmiento said
Actress-host Kris Aquino confirmed that she and former DILG Secretary Mel Sarmiento broke up and netizens have been talking about the latter’s reason why he decided to agree with his ex-fiancee.
The breakup speculations started to circulate when many people noticed that Kris has deleted all her posts with Mel on her Instagram account. Fans and social media followers of Kris wondered why she did that.
Following that, the former presidential daughter broke her silence and showed a screenshot of the breakup message that Mel Sarmiento sent her. In the message, the former DILG head said that he can’t put Kris Aquino at risk because he has “bubble fatigue”.
It simply means that he can’t avoid getting out and interacting with people in public places like malls. With this, going home to Kris will just put her at risk as her health is a major concern.
Following the breakup confirmation that the Queen of all Media did, the name of Mel Sarmiento became a top trending topic on Twitter. Several netizens aired dismay over the reasons of the former government official.
Some said that it was just an “excuse” while many also expressed sympathy towards Kris. There were also netizens who likened Mel to “Poblacion Girl” who went viral these past few days because went out to party with her friends when she was supposed to be in a quarantine facility.
The said girl, who netizens also called Gwyneth Chua, received bashing online. With this, many said that Mel Sarmiento is just like “Poblacion Girl” for wanting to get out of the bubble.
