Philippine National Police Proposes National Police Clearance Fee Increase
The Philippine National Police is planning to impose an increase in the National Police Clearance fee, raising it from P150 to P200.
The agency explained that the adjustment is needed due to rising costs and other required government charges.
According to the PNP, the proposal is based on inflation from 2019 to 2026, as well as increasing operational expenses. They also said that compliance with the Documentary Stamp Tax requirement must be included in the updated fee.
Under the new breakdown, the P200 fee is composed of a P150 base charge, P30 for DST, and P20 for inflation adjustment. This structure ensures that all necessary costs are properly covered without affecting service delivery.
The PNP said the goal of the proposal is to maintain smooth and continuous processing of police clearance applications. They added that the adjustment will help sustain quality public service despite economic challenges.
Residents and applicants are expected to adjust to the possible new fee once it is approved. The PNP emphasized that the change is still subject to proper review and approval before implementation.
