Cristine Reyes and Gio Tingson talked about this aspect in their relationship

Actress Cristine Reyes and former National Youth Commission (NYC) chairperson Gio Tingson talked about their political differences.

Cristine and Gio are now engaged. The actress recently announced their engagement, and she shared that the proposal happened at their condo unit, and she even asked her daughter Amarah to take a video of it.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Cristine and Gio admitted that their political views are different from each other.

However, they are making sure that their relationship will not be affected by their opposing political beliefs.

It can be recalled that Cristine Reyes supported the presidential candidacy of President Bongbong Marcos, while Gio Tingson campaigned for Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo.

Gio acknowledges their differences in politics, but they talk about this. “Sa dulo kasi yung mga ganyan bagay, I mean, titingnan mo pa rin naman yung relasyon niyo, yung pagkakaibigan niyo. And yun yung panahon na nagkakanselan (cancel culture) yung mga tao sa isa’t isa,” he said.

He also recalled the time when Cristine received a massive amount of bashing when she portrayed Imee Marcos in the 2022 controversial film directed by Darryl Yap titled Maid in Malacañang.

Gio shared that it was the time when he and Cristine started talking again.

Tapos we started talking again na parang, ‘hoy kumusta, okay ka lang?’, kasi they were being bashed online. We started talking again. Okay naman, very successful yung movie, di ba?” he recalled.

For Cristine, this does not matter because she and Gio have known each other since they were young, and she has known her fiancé as someone patriotic.

“So hindi ko siya pinaghihinalaan na, ‘sus ano lang to parang pretentious or nagpapanggap na gusto lang maki-ride’,” the actress said.

Then, Gio pointed out that some people are saying that because they have differences in politics, they also have different values. “Ako, parang we didn’t see it that way. In fact, parang nung pag kami magkasama we’re like teka, same values talaga tayo,” the fiancé of Cristine Reyes said.
