Here’s the official statement from Kris Aquino confirming her separation from her almost husband.
KRIS AQUINO – Famous television personality Kris Aquino reveals that she and Mel Sarmiento are no longer together and this is her statement.
Former secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Mel Senen Sarmiento and Kris Aquino are supposed to be marrying soon until the new year came and all their photos have been wiped out in the latter’s social media account. According to a previous article, the deletion of their photos has sparked speculations that they have broken up shortly after announcing that they are engaged.
And before the Monday ended, Aquino officially confirmed their split wanting to spare herself and her loved ones from rumors and speculations. She said in her post that she was the one who initiated the whole breakup and Mel was gracious enough to accept her offer because of her deteriorating health.
Both of them acknowledged that the actress and TV host has to focus on her health and her sons Josh and Bimby. She posted photos of her being checked for her autoimmune disease along with screenshots of her last conversation with Sarmiento. The real intent of her post is for herself. She wants to move on peacefully and focus on herself and her health because her sons still need her.
“I will just post screenshots of Mel’s last text message to me. After that you will never read nor hear anything at all about him from me, because I still want to preserve whatever dignity I have left,” she wrote. Sliding off, the following cards showed the last message she received from him where he expressed that despite what happened to them, he will always love her.
A part of his last text message for her said:
“Given my nature, who loves to go out, I accept that I already have a bubble fatigue and will not be able to, sad to say, be able to continue living in a bubble. On that note, with a heavy heart, I accepted your offer of letting me go. For I cannot in conscience be able to accept that something will happen to you brought about (by) my going out of the bubble.”
