Alan Peter Cayetano and the Senate Majority Bloc continue to skip plenary sessions
Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano might just want to be a vlogger, as Senator Erwin Tulfo expressed his dismay over the Majority Bloc’s no-show at the Senate plenary sessions.
On Monday, June 1, 2026, the Majority Bloc was saddened when their ally, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, surrendered following the release of a warrant of arrest against him by the Sandiganbayan, in line with his alleged involvement in the anomalous flood control projects in Bulacan.
On that day, those in the Majority Bloc showed their support for Estrada. Sen. Camille Villar became so emotional, while Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano accompanied him.

On the same day, the Majority Bloc skipped the Senate plenary session, and this was repeated on Tuesday. With this, the works that the Senators had to do took a halt, and this did not sit well with those under the Senate Minority Bloc, including Sen Erwin Tulfo.
In an interview on TV Patrol, veteran broadcaster Karen Davila asked Tulfo about Cayetano’s call to the Majority to have a dialogue with the Majority. The Senate President had this call through his Facebook Live stream.

Tulfo said, “Miss Karen ang problema puro siya Facebook, puro siya LIVE, baka gusto niya maging vlogger na lamang?” He added that Cayetano could even earn from his vlogs, since the Senate President has done a livestream several times.
“May oras siya sa pagba-vlog, pero yung gawain niya rito, yung trabaho niya bilang Senate President, hindi niya magampanan,” Tulfo stressed.
He also said that the salary from the taxes of Filipinos is put to waste. Tulfo even cited that they are receiving P300,000 a month or P10,000 per day for their salary, but then, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano would not do his duty as the Senate President.
