Rabiya Mateo had her charity event in her hometown
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo donated school supplies to her former elementary school.
Rabiya started in the world of pageantry and eventually crossed over to show business. After a few acting and hosting stints, the Ilongga beauty decided to return to school.
She went viral when her 741 General Performance Score (GPS) on the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) circulated on social media, which was higher than the 719 score that fictional viral character Linda Walker had.
She also became a hot topic online with the status of her love life. It was recently confirmed that she is now in a relationship with Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca.
Their fans have been gushing over the sweet moments that they shared on their pages.
One of the recent Instagram posts that Rabiya Mateo shared was a series of photos taken during her recent charitable endeavor. She returned to her former school, the Balasan Central Elementary School, in Iloilo.
She held a gift-giving activity for the students. “Today, I had the privilege of returning to where it all began. We were able to distribute 250 sets of school supplies, bags, and packed meals to the students of Balasan Central Elementary School,” she wrote in the caption of her post.
Rabiya was also happy that she spent time with students from the Special Education Department.
“I also had the opportunity to meet with the Special Education Department, which holds a special place in my heart as a physical therapist and aspiring doctor,” she shared.
Rabiya also said that seeing the dedication of the educators and the smiles on the children’s faces reminded her why investing in education will always be one of the most meaningful ways to give back.
In her post, the celebrity also showed appreciation for her friends and her boyfriend. “Special thanks… Thank you so much, Jake @juancarloscuenca, for helping me fund this program,” she said.
Rabiya Mateo also clarified that she has no plan to enter politics. It is quite common to garner speculation that a political plan is behind charitable endeavors. The celebrity stressed that she believes that one should give back if blessings come.
