Motorcycle Rider Attacked by Two Men in Sampaloc, Manila
A motorcycle rider in Sampaloc, Manila was left injured after he was attacked by two men riding on the same motorcycle.
On Monday (June 1, 2026), the incident happened at the corner of Florentino Street and Maceda Street in Barangay 519 at around 3:00 a.m. CCTV footage captured the violent encounter, showing the victim stopping at an intersection before the two men arrived.
The back rider suddenly struck the victim with a helmet, while the motorcycle driver followed with several punches. After being attacked, the victim quickly left the area to avoid further harm. The two suspects then made a U-turn and headed back the way they came.

Based on a dashcam video later uploaded to social media, the victim had been peacefully riding home before the incident. Earlier on the road, he had crossed paths with the two suspects. When he stopped at a traffic light, he was surprised to discover that the men had followed him. Without warning, they confronted and attacked him.
The rider suffered pain from the assault and was reportedly punched twice. The strong impact of the helmet strike also damaged some of the accessories attached to his motorcycle helmet. Aside from the physical injuries, the incident left him worried about his safety.
Following the attack, the victim sought help from barangay officials and filed a blotter report at Barangay 517. Although the incident took place in Barangay 519, he went to Barangay 517 because the person being complained about was believed to have connections in the area.
Barangay officials immediately tried to locate the suspect seen in the video. However, they later learned that he was not a permanent resident and frequently moved from one place to another. Attempts to contact him through relatives were unsuccessful.
Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack. One theory is that the suspect may have become irritated during an earlier encounter on the road. The victim is only asking that the suspects cover the cost of repairing the damaged motorcycle accessories.
The barangay and police continue to coordinate efforts to identify and locate the two men involved so they can be held accountable for the incident.
