Tito Sotto was asked about Sharon Cuneta and Kiko Pangilinan
Senate President Tito Sotto revealed that Megastar Sharon Cuneta did not talked to him about the vice presidential candidacy of her husband Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
Sharon is the niece of Sotto’s wife veteran actress Helen Gamboa. To recall, when the VP candidacy of Pangilinan was announced, Ciara Sotto, the daughter of the Senate President aired her dismay, especially that her parents considered Sharon as a daughter.
Amid the family conflict due to politics, Sharon expressed through her social media post that the situation is also difficult for her. In spite of what happened, the Megastar is hopeful that whatever conflict will be ironed out.
In a recent interview on Karen Davila’s Headstart program on ANC, Sen. Tito Sotto said that Sharon Cuneta or Kiko Pangilinan did not tell him about the political plan of the latter. “No, they did not,” Sotto said.
Last October, Pangilinan said in an interview that he talked to Sotto before he announced that he will be the running mate of Vice President Leni Robredo.
When asked if what was his reaction that he will be going against the husband of his niece for the same position, the Senate President simply answered, “Well, to each his own.” He added that the persons that should be asked about this are his wife and his daughter.
“That question would better be asked of my wife and my children. They have a different perspective. As far as I am concerned, sa akin I brush it off. But to them, it’s a big deal,” the Senator said.
Then, he was asked why it is a big deal for the two women in his life, Sotto said that with a laugh that Karen should ask Helen and Ciara instead.
Tito Sotto was also asked if he will get the support from his nephew Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto. “At one point? I think so. Although he has already…as far as the national politics is concerned, he has said that he does not want to participate with his party,” the vice presidential aspirant said.
Previously, Vico Sotto expressed that as much as possible, he does not want to get involved in the national politics as his concentration is on his constituents in Pasig.
