Ciara Sotto reacts to Tito Sotto and Kiko Pangilinan’s Vice Presidential bid
Senate President Tito Sotto and Senator Kiko Pangilinan are both running for President in 2022, and this is the reaction of actress Ciara Sotto to this.
Early September, Sen. Sotto has already expressed his plan to run as Sen. Ping Lacson’s VP. They are among the first politicians who announced their candidacy for next year’s election. A day before the final day of filing of certificate of candidacy, it was revealed that Sen. Pangilinan will be the running mate of Vice President Leni Robredo.
With this, Ciara has this reaction when asked about this, based on the article in PEP. Sotto and Pangilinan are not related. However, Pangilinan’s wife, Sharon Cuneta, is the niece of Helen Gamboa, the wife of Sotto.
It is known in showbiz that Sharon and Helen treat each other like mother and daughter. Ciara is also known to be very close with Sharon along with her other siblings. Reacting to the Kiko Pangilinan versus Tito Sotto in the position of vice president took Ciara a while to share her thoughts.
She said that she has been silent about the political aspect of the life of her father even though how hurtful the words are against the Senate President. The actress shared that she prayed if she would give her reaction to this matter.
“I cried because I am so hurt and disappointed. It made me feel that my parents were of no value after all. Ate [Sharon] has always been considered and treated like a daughter by my dad and especially my mom,” she said. On the other hand, Ciara said that she will continue to pray for them.
The actress added that she is also praying for her father for “protection, wisdom, discernment.” Reportedly, the actress also had this meaningful post on social media on October 8, the last day of filing of COC: “The best thing about the worst time of your life is that you get to see the true colors of everyone.”
