Here’s what Tito Sotto said about his marriage with Helen Gamboa
Senate President Tito Sotto shared the secret to his 52 years of marriage with wife veteran actress Helen Gamboa.
For more than five decades of being together, the couple has become an epitome of long-lasting relationship. Based on the article in PUSH, the actor/host-turned-politician revealed how they are keeping the fire burning.
“First of all, siguro because we’re both Christ-centered. Pareho kaming relihiyoso, relihiyosa, isang bagay yon,” he shared. The Senator also said that give-and-take is important. He joked that even though Helen would say that they are giving and taking equally, the reality is not like that.
“Ang totoo no’n lamang ako sa give. Hahaha! Dahil minsan kahit hindi na siya yung nasa lugar nagsosori pa rin ako. Hahaha!” Tito Sotto enthused.
He also said that humor also plays a big part in keeping them together. The lawmaker would always joke that his wife is still so much in love with him until now. Tito pointed out one attitude that he is doing in his relationship with Helen.
He said that he would treat her highly. “Ilagay mo sa pedestal yung asawa mo. Kailangan okey lang kung siya palagi ang tama. Ganun yung mentality ko, eh,” the Senate President shared.
Meanwhile, Tito Sotto also shared that Helen Gamboa is getting better now after experiencing a problem in her health. She had to turn down a TV project because of this. Her doctor advised that the taping could be strenuous for her. Helen was discouraged her to work, especially having scenes with strenuous drama.
Tito Sotto also mentioned that his wife received an offer from ABS-CBN before the franchise renewal issue. Amid the pandemic, she received another offer but she refused to accept it despite her doctor already allowed her. It is because she does not want the lock-in taping setup.
