18-Year-Old Lady Who Stole Around P8-M From Her Victims Using Online Selling Scam Arrested by Police Authorities
The police authorities arrested an 18-year-old lady after stealing around P8 million from her victims using online selling scam.
PNP-CIDG arrested the female suspect identified as Chase Jasmine Santos who is selling clothes and other goods on social media. She has been nabbed for engaging in an online selling scam victimizing youngsters.
According to Provincial Officer-PNP-CIDG Lieutenant Colonel Benedict Poblete, the suspect is using the name of a popular K-pop group for her modus to lure victims, especially the young ones.
“Most of the victims are youngsters, young business wannabes,” Poblete said.
The lady suspect has been using the online selling scam for two years. She is offering the products for a very cheap price but never delivered it to her customers. The victims have their own online businesses.
One of the complainants is a minor who lost over P700, 000 cash to Santos. Another victim has also lost P100, 000 to the suspect’s modus. The victims said that the suspect continue to accept money without delivering the ordered items.
The victims also reiterated that they also receive criticisms from their customers for failing to deliver the orders because Santos scammed them. However, Santos defended herself and explained that her supplier failed to deliver the items but she was able to give a refund.

“Yung products nila hindi pa po dumadating sakin. That’s why po nagpapartial refunds na lang po ako sa kanila kasi alam ko naman po na naiipit lang po sila katulad ko po at bata pa po yang mga yan,” Santos said.
Poblete has also advised the public to choose COD or cash on delivery payment method to avoid such modus.
