Bong Suntay defended his remarks about Anne Curtis.
Quezon City 4th district Rep. Jesus “Bong” Suntay said there’s nothing wrong with what he said about actress Anne Curtis.
“Lastly, alam niyo minsan, nasa Shangri-La ako, nakita ko si Anne Curtis, ang ganda-ganda pala niya. You know, may desire sa loob ko na, nag-init talaga, na-imagine ko na lang kung ano’ng pwedeng mangyari. Pero syempre hanggang imagination na lang ‘yon. Pero ‘di naman siguro ako pwedeng kasuhan kung ano ang na-imagine ko eh.”

This was what Quezon City 4th district Rep. Jesus “Bong” Suntay said when he further explained while defending Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday, March 3. This was during the House Committee on Justice hearing on the impeachment complaints filed against the vice president.
It was so specific that it did not sit well with people who heard it. Committee Vice Chairperson San Juan City lone district Rep. Ysabel Maria Zamora interjected. She said, “We’re not censoring anything, but we are reminding them that in fact, we should support women by not saying these statements.”
However, Suntay stood firm in his controversial remark and maintained that he was being “censored” by the justice panel, which is chaired by Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro.
Suntay defended his remarks and expressed that there was nothing wrong with what he said. He even stressed that there was nothing “sexual” or “immoral” about it. He insisted that there was nothing wrong with the specific words he used.
However, Luistro responded, “The chair would like to state that if the manifestation of the justice member offends the sensitivity of the justice members, then it means we are crossing the boundaries already. After all, we rule here by the judgment of the justice members.”
Zamora moved to strike Suntay’s remarks from the records of the hearing, which was supported by others.
