Kitty Duterte Speaks on Side of Duterte Family over VP Sara Announcing Her Bid for President in 2028
The Duterte family is supportive of the decision of Vice President Sara Duterte to run for president in 2028 according to her younger sister, Kitty Duterte.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously announced that she will run for president in the 2028 Elections. She also claimed that she has already recruited someone last year to be her running mate in the next national polls.
According to Vice Pres. Duterte, she has always questioned the weight of the responsibilities in leading a country but she has realized that her life is not for hers to live alone. While she revealed that she has talked to someone to be her running mate in the next elections, the Vice President did not reveal the name of the person.
Recently, while in The Hague, Netherlands, the Vice President’s younger sister, Kitty Duterte, spoke on the announcement of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to run for the presidency in 2028. According to News5, she stressed that the Duterte family supports the presidential bid of her sister in the next polls.
Kitty Duterte admitted that their family talked about the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in 2028. The youngest among the Duterte siblings admitted that they have some fears for her sister who is a mother to young kids.
“VP Sara just announced that she’s running for president this 2028. We talked about that but there’s also this fear inkling for her, of course, she has children who are bata pa,” Kitty said.
Amid their fears for the safety of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, according to Kitty, the Duterte family knows that the Vice President can really handle it. Based on the post, she stressed that her sister is braver than their father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Well alam namin kaya niya. Mas matapang pa ‘yan sa tatay namin,” the younger Duterte said.
Previously, on her decision not to reveal the identity of the person she recruited be her running mate, the Vice President claimed that it is for the protection of the person while he/she has yet to decide. Several names floated as possible running mate of the Vice President in 2028.
Presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos is one of those who are speculated as the possible running mate of the Vice President in 2028. Amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government, she has aligned herself with the Dutertes.
