Man Purchases Bicycle for Son Using Hard-Earned P10-Peso Coins Worth P13k

A man named Manny Herrera goes viral after buying a bicycle for his son using his hard-earned P10-peso coins worth P13, 000.

Manny Herrera of Bacoor, Cavite captured the hearts of the online community for purchasing the dream bike of his son using coins. The loving dad started to save money for the bike last year.

The man’s wife Lorna Balancar said that they were segregating every P10 coin they receive from their customers at sari-sari store. The couple were every P10 coin for the bike of their second son Giruo Jet B. Herrera.

It took the three months to save a sufficient amount for the bike. Manny and his son have started to canvass for the best prices after completing the amount until they found one in Team Bisekleta Manila.

The father and son chose the mountain peak model, which can be used during road trips with other bike enthusiasts. It was the couple’s birthday gift for their second son.

However, the shop employees got surprised after receiving the payment in10-peso coins. The couple didn’t have time to change the coins to bills. The store crew took 30 minutes to count the coins.

The couple also advised the public to save money especially during this time of coronavirus pandemic. Making saving as a lifestyle really means a lot especially during cases of emergency.

“Kung may sobra, kailangan magtabi para kahit papaano kung may nais kang bilhin, mabibili mo. Masarap kasi sa pakiramdam na makuha mo yung bagay galing sa ipon mo,” the couple said.
