Snooky Serna shared something about Barbie Forteza
Veteran actress Snooky Serna said that if the classic film ‘Galema: Anak ni ZumaSnooky Serna, Barbie Forteza, Galema Anak ni Zuma,’ were to be remade, Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza is her top choice.
Snooky portrayed the iconic role of Zuma in a film released in 1987. It had its television adaptation in 2013, featuring former actress Andi Eigenmann.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Snooky named the actresses she believes could bring the character of Galema to life. Among her top picks are Barbie Forteza, Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo, and Kapuso star Carla Abellana.
Among these three actresses, Barbie makes the strongest impression on the veteran actress. “I consider kasi si Barbie na younger pa rin. So para sa akin, parang gusto ko si Barbie. I think it would be nice to see Barbie. That’s my first choice to play the role of Galema. She’s also athletic,” Snooky Serna said.
The veteran actress also noted that Barbie is a perfect fit, thanks to her youthful appearance and athletic nature.
Kathryn and Carla were not left off the list either because Snooky praised their dedication to the craft and their acting prowess. The veteran actress commended the younger actresses for their professionalism and their versatility whatever roles given to them.
Snooky also reminisced about the time she was chosen to play the title role at the peak of her career. She shared that until now, she still can’t believe that happened because out of all the actors in showbiz, and there were so many options, she was the one chosen for the role of Galema.
The veteran actress said that it was a great honor for her. Snooky Serna also admitted that she is open to appearing in a potential remake of “Galema: Anak ni Zuma,” though she would prefer a special guest role that holds sentimental value.
