PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (October 8)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Tropical Depression Maring would bring cloudy to rainy condition over some parts of the country.

On Friday (October 8, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Maring would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that Maring has been last spotted at 595 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and a gustiness of up to 55 kph. It is moving 10 kph at a southward direction.

The tropical depression would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Northern Samar.

“The cyclone is forecast to maintain a generally west northwestward heading until Monday. A more westward movement is likely by Tuesday as it moves away from the Luzon Strait,” PAGASA said.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga and Aurora.

Maring’s trough would bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over eastern Visayas. The southwesterlies enhanced by the tropical depression would bring similar weather condition over Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and the rest of Visayas.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides.

The coastal water condition over the seaboards of Luzon and the eastern and western seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao would be moderate to rough, according to the weather bureau.
