PAGASA Says ITCZ & LPA To Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area and ITCZ would bring cloudy to rainy conditions over parts of the country.

On Monday (September 20, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone and the low-pressure area would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last posted at 280 km west of Subic, Zambales and it was embedded in the ITCZ. The two weather disturbances is currently affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The LPA and ITCZ would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The localized thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country would experience similar weather conditions with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. The rest of the archipelago will have a fair weather condition with possible isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

“Ang LPA na ito ay nakapaloob pa rin or naka-embed sa intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ [na] nakakaapekto sa Southern Luzon, sa Visayas, at sa Mindanao,” Pagasa senior weather specialist Ariel Rojas.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the entire country would be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
